Announcement: Special DFIP to stake dETH-backing ETH on Bake to buy & burn DFI is now live This Special DFIP proposes staking 90% of idle ETH from a designated address on Bake, using automated conversions of staking rewards into DFI through a bot, with the acquired DFI being subsequently burned. Note that special DFIPs require a 2/3 approval rate with a minimum of 10% participation from masternodes. This proposal is currently available for voting, and will end on 20th August 2023. Update regarding the new MetaChain layer timeline: We're excited to update you that the Core-Developer-Team has been working hard on R&D for DST-20 to facilitate seamless transfers of dTokens & dAssets between DeFiChain and the MetaChain layer at the launch of the mainnet. This breakthrough will unlock exciting possibilities, enabling lending, borrowing, trading, and leveraging dTokens and dAssets on MetaChain through innovative dApps. Moreover, the team successfully implemented block burn fees and priority gas fees, adhering to Ethereum’s EIP-1559 standard. Burnt fees are allocated to the burn address, while priority gas fees are credited to miners on the Account layer. The Core-Developer-Team maintains active communication with several remarkable projects currently building on the MetaChain layer, creating a promising landscape with many enticing programs and opportunities in the pipeline. The future looks bright for the growth and expansion of the DeFiChain ecosystem. As of the current outlook, we are on track for a potential mid-Q3 launch of the MetaChain layer, well within the buffer zone, as indicated in the image below. The core-devs are diligently working to ensure a smooth and successful deployment, while also considering any contingencies to meet the timeline effectively.
